New School Communications and External Affairs photographs
This record group consists of photographic records created, commissioned and compiled by The New School's Communications and External Affairs office. The collection consists of images of campus facilities, faculty and administrators, dominated by images of Parsons School of Design classes, the Parsons fashion critics awards, commencement ceremonies, and guests of Inside the Actors Studio. While there are photographs from earlier decades, the prints, negatives, transparencies, and thumbnail printouts of digital image files largely represent the university in the 1990s through early 2000s.
New School Communications and External Affairs records
This record group documents the activities of The New School's Communications and External Affairs (CEA) office, one of the university's largest administrative units. CEA was the successor administrative unit to the New School Publicity Office, and the New School Communications Office, respectively. The bulk of materials here date from the late 1990s through 2013, and includes digital photographs, printed publicity samples, posters, and project files consisting of analog and digital records from the Design and Publications Office of CEA.
New School in the News clippings
The collection includes files of photocopied clippings published between 1995-2001, pertaining to The New School and its divisions. The clippings were retained by The New School Communications Office and were assembled into monthly or seasonal bound editions titled New School in the News, which were distributed to individuals and offices throughout the university.
The Weekly Observer collection
This collection consists of an entire run of the weekly periodical, The Weekly Observer, reporting on events, programs, and people from the New School community, compiled and produced by the university's office of Communications and External Affairs. The collection includes several formats of the publication, including printed downloads of email blasts, html files, Word files, PDF files, and WARC files from the university website.
