Series 2. Promotional materials, 1940-1952

 Series

Scope and Contents

The New School's Publicity and Public Relations Offices used these scrapbooks to track and store materials related to New School advertising, course promotion, often featuring a specific course or program, fund raising appeals and pamphlets for the New School Associates, letterhead, concert programs, course, exhibition and other event announcements, many sponsored by the New School Associates, invitations, statistical reports, radio spots, event calendars, and weekly and semester-length course bulletins. Programs featured include the École Libre des Hautes Études, the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science, the Schools of Politics, Philosophy and Liberal Arts, and the Dramatic Workshop.

Many of the materials herein were found tucked between leaves of the scrapbook, rather than attached to scrapbook pages. Semester-length course catalogs have been removed to the New School course catalog collection (NS.05.01.01). While some issues of the weekly supplemental pamphlet, the New School Bulletin , remain here, many have been removed to the New School Bulletin collection (NS.03.01.02). Unless otherwise indicated, materials in this series remain undigitized.
