Scope and Contents
Carol Wilder, associate dean and chair of the School of Media Studies opens the 8th annual "Mixed Messages" showcase of student films. Wilder introduces mixed media artist and musician, Laurie Anderson, who describes her experience as an artist-in-residence at NASA and relates this to the mysteries and frustrations of the artistic process, writ large. Following Anderson are a succession of student films: Elizabeth Fraller, "Numbers" (video 4 min.); Michiko Okamoto, "The Ace of Hearts" (12 min.); Anezka Sebek, "Dyke TV" (15 min.); Esther Kreider-Verhalle, "Memorials," (audio only, 11 min.); Roberto Minervini, "The Empty Field" (6 min.); Sara Lazarovic, "Two Ladies" (5 min.); John Plenge, "Aliens Delight at the Destruction of My Dishwasher" (audio only, 6 min.); Didem Yilmaz, "Seeking the Sultan" (15 min.).
