Almaz Zelleke was interviewed by Julia Foulkes on January 21, 2020. In the interview, Zelleke discusses the various administrative roles and positions she held in the Schools of Public Engagement at The New School from 1995 to 2010. She was initially hired to work under Linda Dunne in bolstering the Bachelors Program for Adult and Transfer Students and then took on larger administrative roles in the dean’s office, finally serving as the associate dean for academic affairs. Zelleke discusses the changes in the BA program and the division as a whole, and what prompted her decision to leave The New School.

Participant Biography
Almaz Zelleke is an associate professor of practice in political science at New York University’s Shanghai campus. Prior to this position, she was a visiting scholar at the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and was the associate dean for academic affairs at The New School for Public Engagement and assistant director of The New School’s Bachelors Program for Adults and Transfer Students. Zelleke holds a BA from Princeton University and a PhD and MA in political science from Harvard University.
