This series contains general correspondence arranged into two subseries: chronological, and alphabetically by correspondent or subject name. Alphabetical correspondence primarily relates to Vidich's professional activities, including the Hans Gerth memorial; scholarships; exchanges with sociologists from other institutions, such as Robert Wilson and Sol Tax; and international academic institutions. Chronological correspondence includes letters, printed emails, and faxes from colleagues and personal friends. Correspondence relating to specific publications will be found in the Professional activities series, and a cache of correspondence relating to Vidich's family and select colleagues will be found in the Biographical series.
