Scope and Contents
In the mid- to late-1980s, Goldfarb made four trips to Poland as a representative of The New School. The first, in December 1984, was with New School President Jonathan Fanton to award Adam Michnick an honorary degree. The second, in May of 1985, was to observe the trials of Michnik and other members of the Polish Solidarity movement. The third, from May-June of 1987, and fourth visits, from November-December of 1988, were made to establish partnerships between The New School's Graduate Faculty and institutions in Eastern Europe. These files contain manuscripts of Goldfarb's reflections and summaries of these visits, as well as travel itineraries and notes.
