According to a document in the folder, "Gig Office 2006/2007," the New School for Jazzz and Contemporary Music program formalized the process of offering proferssional performance opportunities in 2001. The NSJOP (New School Jazz Outreach Project) mission was "to support students external performance xperience as they step closer to the their professional lives as musicians."
