Scope and Contents

John Russo designed many of these items, which include printed posters, fliers, and postcards announcing social events and exhibitions, including a program for a Parsons School of Design fashion exhibition (1964); "A statement by the Board and President of Parsons" (1971); "Questions and Answers about Parsons" (1991); and a Parsons School of Design undergraduate interior design brochure. Includes posters promoting a candlelight dance held by the Parsons Student Activities Committee at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in 1963 and 1965; black and white poster (23 x 35 inch) featuring the names of the Parsons graduating Communication Design class of 1973; one 20 x 29 inch poster for the Parsons graduating Communication Design class of 1979, with a unique bird illustration representing each student; and several versions of a one-color print of dancing Santa Clauses in a circular design. Dancing Santa Claus and the representation of humans as birds were reoccuring motifs in John Russo's illustration work. Also includes posters and announcements for the annual Mardi Gras Ball.
