The Riggio Forum was a series of interview-based seminars at The New School from 2009 to 2012 moderated and curated by Greil Marcus, Visiting Professor in the Riggio Writing and Democracy Program. The Forums were part of the curriculum of the Riggio Writing and Democracy Initiative, which was founded at The New School in 2006. Underwritten by philanthropists Leonard and Louise Riggio, with a curriculum administered by the Graduate Writing Program of The New School, the Riggio Writing and Democracy Initiative was an undergraduate, cross-disciplinary program of writing workshops and seminars focused on the connections between democratic expression and writing. The Riggio Forum sessions typically featured prominent authors and critics concerned with the subject of American culture.
