Miriam Kartch (1924-) was a longtime faculty member of Mannes School of Music, beginning her teaching under Clara Damrosch Mannes in 1945 and retiring in 2015. She was also the director of the Preparatory Division of Mannes. This collection consists of administrative documents and personal writings from Kartch’s ongoing tenure at Mannes. Most documents in this collection date from 1970s to 1990s, and include personal notes as well as meeting minutes and other faculty and administrative records. Also found herein is documentation on Mannes College's merger with The New School, and a proposed merger with the Manhattan School of Music.
