Seven Directions Plus One, 2017
Book created in a 3-credit "Letterpress: Hand-Set Type" class by students Elizabeth Capreol, Hayley Courtney, Qamile Dani, Nidhi Goenka, Jahyun Lee, Jack Rieger, Jessica Visci, and Erin Walker-McMullen. The design prompt was to create a manifesto about anything using the Vandercook and platen press in the printmaking studio. Each student contributed a manifesto created using a slightly different technique, but all are printed on Canson Mi-Tientes paper and use letterpress printing.
When an archivist asked about the context in which the book was created, Gross responded that living in the present political moment was the inspiration for creating a book of manifestoes.
