National Book Critics Circle Award recordings
The New School was a frequent host of National Book Critics Circle events, co-sponsored by the university's MFA in Creative Writing Program. This collection of audio recordings documents readings, awards ceremonies and singular events from the first decade of The New School's collaboration with National Book Critics Circle.
Nellie Lane Woodruff scrapbook of Lilli Lehmann opera ephemera
The scrapbook, compiled by Nellie Lane Woodruff (1867-circa 1944), contains ephemera about opera singer Lilli Lehmann (1848-1929). It appears from the contents of the scrapbook that Lehmann and Woodruff were acquaintances, if not friends. The scrapbook contains photographs, clippings, programs, and other ephemera documenting Lehmann's professional singing career at the Metropolitan Opera of New York, the Bayreuth Festival, and at other venues.
New Musicians at The New School recordings
New Musicians at The New School was a classical music concert series offered by the New School for Social Research from 1985 to 1993. The collection consists of audio recordings of some of these concerts.
New School Academic Program websites
The New School Academic Program websites collection consists of web-based content captured on an ongoing basis using the Internet Archive's Archive-It software, Conifer, and Browsertrix. These websites were created by academic departments across the University.
Due to the techniques and tools of web harvesting, and the evolving nature of the Internet, some websites have been crawled more comprehensively than others and are represented more faithfully than others.
New School accounting records
The New School accounting records consist of files from the Office of the Treasurer and other administrative offices documenting the finances of the university. These include construction files, financial statements from 1930-1959, and ledgers with receipts and accounts payable dating from the 1930s-1970s.
New School Administration websites
New School Adult Division Office of the Dean records
These records were created by the dean's office of the adult education division of The New School (as of 2022, Schools of Public Engagement), and predominantly reflect the activities of two deans, William Birenbaum and Allen Austill, 1961-1979. A subset of records document the formation of New School College in the 1960s, the Institute for Retired Professionals, and the Physicians Assistant program. A number of files are restricted due to confidentiality.
New School Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling program event recordings
The collection consists of a small sample of sound reel recordings of public programming sponsored by The New School's Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counseling program, established in 1986.
New School Alumni Relations records
The New School Alumni Relations records contains lists of alumni, reunion invitations, and promotional material.
New School Annual Reports
This collection consists solely of published, bound annual reports for the New School for Social Research, now The New School, issued by the university's Board of Trustees.
