Abstract

Collection consists of digital files related to HIV and AIDS prevention and education, produced by the Wellness and Health Promotion unit of The New School's Student Health Services office. University students at a private, urban university were the target audience for the approximately twenty files, predominantly fliers, comprising the collection.

The New York Times: The Inside Story was a special lecture series held at The New School during the Fall 1990 semester. The lectures featured journalists for The New York Times newspaper discussing various sections of the newspaper. Collection consists of audio recordings of these lectures.

Abstract The New You Peer Health Advocates oral history project consists of five interviews with the founders and alumni of The New You, The New School's peer health advocacy program. The New You was founded in 2010 by Rachel Knopf Shey and Tamara Oyola-Santiago, co-directors of Wellness and Health Promotion at The New School. In 2019, Wellness and Health Promotion was eliminated and Knopf Shey and Oyola-Santiago transitioned into new roles at the university. This oral history project...

Abstract

This collection consists of an entire run of the weekly periodical, The Weekly Observer, reporting on events, programs, and people from the New School community, compiled and produced by the university's office of Communications and External Affairs. The collection includes several formats of the publication, including printed downloads of email blasts, html files, Word files, PDF files, and WARC files from the university website.

After graduating from the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (later, Parsons School of Design) in 1934, Tom Brigance (1913-1990) became a fashion designer specializing in women's swimwear and sportswear. The collection includes scrapbooks of clippings and photographs of Brigance's designs, sketches, publicity materials, and four original fashion illustrations of Brigance swimwear by Dorothy Hood, produced for Lord & Taylor.

Records of Tracyann Williams, PhD, who served as director of Academic Affairs for the Bachelor's Program for Adult and Transfer Students (BPATS) in The New School's Schools of Public Engagement until she left the university in early 2020. Includes documentation on the Diversity Committee and the Diversity Task Force, the Gender Studies program, the Faculty Senate, and Students of the African Diaspora, for whom Williams was a faculty advisor.

The New School Graduate Faculty established the East and Central Europe Program in 1990, expanding to become the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (TCDS) in 1997, to foster dialogue on democratic theory and practice in East and Central Europe, Central America and southern Africa, among other regions. The collection documents the center’s events, seminars, workshops, and conferences. Also includes research and course files of TCDS founder, Elzbieta Matynia.
