Alfred Corning Clark papers
Anthony Aziz and Sammy Cucher papers
Anthony Aziz and Sammy Cucher are New York-based artists and Parsons School of Design faculty who work as the collaborative, interdisciplinary duo Aziz + Cucher. The collection contains photographs, press clippings, and handwritten notes documenting their early work and exhibitions. It also contains some of Aziz's teaching files and various Parsons School of Design BFA/MFA senior thesis exhibition catalogs from 2008-20021.
Art Brenner artist file and rendering
Art Brenner (1924-2013) was a sculptor of architectural-scale abstract art in steel metal. The collection includes a file about Brenner compiled by his sister-in-law, Natasha Brenner, as well as a rendering by Art Brenner of one of his sculptures, inscribed to Natasha and Noah Brenner. Noah was Art's brother.
Carlos Salzedo collection
Carlos Salzédo (1885-1961) was a French-born harpist, teacher, and composer, who performed with the Metropolitan Opera and founded Trio de Lutéce as well as the Salzédo Harp Ensemble. The collection consists of his own published compositions, annotated scores and arrangements by other composers, and issues of the Eolian Review, for which he served as editor.
Caroline L. Whiting student notebooks
Caroline L. Whiting, known professionally as Caroline Whiting Fellows, received a diploma in illustrative advertising from the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (later, Parsons School of Design) in 1925. The collection consists of two notebooks of hand-written lecture notes, tracings, drawing exercises, and visual research Whiting maintained during her studies.
Clara Mayer papers
Cory Benett Bloomingdale's shopping bag collection
The collection consists of over one hundred shopping bags, primarily produced by Bloomingdale's department store and acquired by Cory Benett, a Bloomingdale's employee, for his personal enjoyment. The mostly paper bags feature art and design work by major designers, artists, and photographers of the late 1970s through the early 1990s. The collection also contains a small number of bags from other retailers.
David Hahn École Libre papers
The collection contains administrative documents, letters of support, remarks, photographs, and ephemera gathered by David Hahn, business manager of the École Libre des Hautes Études.
Dorothy Haon and Marion Haon papers
Dorothy Haon (1898-1995) attended the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (later, Parsons School of Design) in 1923-1924, and went on to careers in fashion design and merchandising. The collection, which spans the late 1930s through the 1950s, includes working sketches and notes, cloth patterns, fabric samples, and business records. Also included is work by Dorothy's sister, Marion Haon.
