Scope Note: Greeting cards that are sent or given as expressions of goodwill at Christmastime. The first Christmas cards were made in the 1840s in England. The tradition is followed in all English-speaking countries and the practice is growing in many others.

Abstract

This collection contains holiday cards, illustrations and children’s books sent to Barry Parnell by illustrator Quentin Blake and author John Yeoman over the span of nearly fifty years, testament to their lifelong friendship. 

Dates: circa 1969-circa 2016
