The graduate school at the New School was established in 1933 as the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science. In its early years, the school was often referred to as the University in Exile. The division's name was changed in 2005 to the New School for Social Research (NSSR). This collection contains material related to the school gathered from a variety of sources by librarians in the Raymond Fogelman Library over a number of years.

Materials include documentation of administrative functions, curriculum development, student and faculty research, fundraising and financial aid. Some materials are restricted. Contact archivist@newschool.edu for details.

The New School Archives staff created the Mannes College of Music administrative records collection by integrating several collections documenting the Mannes College of Music (now, Mannes School of Music). The collection includes correspondence, event flyers, photographs, legal records, meeting minutes, illustrations, administrative records and reports.

This collection contains documentation of The New School Archives, established in 2012, and its predecessor, the Kellen Design Archives (also known as the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Archives Center). Wendy Scheir became director of the Archives in 2008, taking over from Xenophon T. Barber. The records cover both directorships and relate to Archives exhibitions, publicity, collecting, preservation, strategic planning, and grant applications.

Also included are photographs of the Archives space and staff.

This collection consists of archived websites published by The New School and members of the university community from 2016 to 2023. The archived websites include university events, exhibits, student and faculty websites, publications, and departmental websites.

This collection consists of administrative records, printed promotional material, and publications produced by Parsons School of Design administrative offices, including Admissions; the Board of Governors; Career Services; Human Resources; Student Services; and the Development Office, including Alumni Relations and External Partnerships. The contents primarily comprise printed promotional materials, directories and lists, with a small amount of photographs and email correspondence.
