Arthur Waldeck (1899-1965) was a New York-based voice teacher. The collection consists of Waldeck's letters to and from renowned music theorist Heinrich Schenker (1868-1935), as well as Waldeck's translations into English and heavily annotated copies of Schenker's works, written and published in German.

Clara Woolie Mayer (1895-1988) held a long affiliation with the New School: as a student, as a trustee, and then in administrative roles, including dean of the School of Philosophy and Liberal Arts (1943-1961) and vice president of the New School for Social Research (1950-1961). Dating largely from 1950 to the early 1960s, the collection consists of subject files pertaining to programs, departments, and New School faculty and administration.

Of note is Mayer's correspondence, largely related to teaching and lectures, with well-known figures, including W.E.B. Du Bois, Albert Einstein, Berenice Abbott, Alvin Johnson, John Cage and Erich Fromm. There is also a wealth of material relating to Mayer's contributions to post-war European relief efforts. Finally, the collection contains typescript writings by Mayer, including articles, speeches, commencement addresses and translations. Some files are restricted. These papers contain drafts, outlines, notes, and manuscripts authored by Horace Meyer Kallen (bulk 1930s-1960s), documenting his career as a founding professor of philosophy at the New School for Social Research (1919-1974). His papers also contain writings by others and research material in the form of offprints and printed journals. Many topics center on religion and his work with Jewish organizations during the 1950s-1960s.

Joseph J. Greenbaum (1924-2011), a specialist in experimental psychology, joined the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research in 1957 and was appointed full professor in 1962. He also served as dean of the Graduate Faculty from 1966 to 1979. This collection contains documentation of Greenbaum’s courses in the Psychology Department and administrative files from his role as dean.

Michael Kalil (1943-1991) was an interior architect, philosopher, educator and artist, known for his innovative work with new materials and for humanizing digital technologies. From 1981 to 1991, he was the principal of Kalil Designs/Kalil Studio, a firm that specialized in high-profile commercial, prototype and theoretical, and residential design commissions. Kalil also served as an adjunct faculty member at the Parsons School of Design.

The collection includes Kalil's personal and professional papers, including original artwork, sketchbooks, journals, photographs, project records, architectural drawings, photoprints and sketches, design prototypes, and posthumous materials.

Mildred Orrick (1906-1994) graduated from the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (later, Parsons School for Design) in 1928 and went on to a career as a fashion and costume designer and illustrator, and designed part of the Futurama exhibition at the 1939 New York World's Fair. Orrick was a visiting critic at Parsons from 1947 to 1962. The collection consists of Orrick's fashion and theater costume sketches, 1920s-1950s.

The New School Graduate Faculty established the East and Central Europe Program in 1990, expanding to become the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (TCDS) in 1997, to foster dialogue on democratic theory and practice in East and Central Europe, Central America and southern Africa, among other regions. The collection documents the center’s events, seminars, workshops, and conferences. Also includes research and course files of TCDS founder, Elzbieta Matynia.
