About the Work interview series
This collection contains a series of filmed interviews with prominent actors, directors, and writers discussing their creative process. The series was hosted by Professor Karen Ludwig of The New School's School of Drama in front of a live audience of students.
Conversations with Actors event series recordings
Theater critic and biographer Martin Gottfried organized and moderated the event series, Conversations with Actors, at The New School every semester from Summer 1991 through Spring 1994. Each session featured group interviews with well-known actors, especially New York City-based stage actors. The collection consists of audio recordings of the interviews through the Fall 1993 semester.
New School School of Drama records
The School of Drama, the dramatic arts program of The New School's College of Performing Arts, grew out of an affiliation with the Actors Studio initiated in the 1990s. This record group primarily documents student performances in the form of publicity materials, such as posters, postcards, fliers, and other print formats advertising individual productions and seasons. The record group also contains numerous clippings and printouts of online reviews.
Video documentation of performances spans 1997 through 2002, while print records cover academic years up through 2018.
