Abstract

Laura Auricchio was an art history professor at The New School, 2002-2019, who also served in several administrator roles. This born-digital collection consists of course materials and administrative records from her tenure as a faculty member and administrator, primarily in the roles of chair of humanities for the Schools of Public Engagement and dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies.

Summary The New School Art Center was established in 1960 with a donation from the Albert J. List Foundation, and remained in operation until around 1977. Directed by Paul Mocsanyi, the Center reflected the New School's commitment to engage provocative subjects, using art to explore contemporary political and social issues. Abstract

This collection consists of an index of publications that reference The New York School of Art (which became Parsons School of Design in 1941) or artists associated with it as students or faculty from the time of the school's founding in 1896 to 1912. The index was assembled by New School Archives staff between 1996 and 2006.
