Abstract

This record group contains theses in print and electronic formats submitted to the MFA Writing Program as part of graduation requirements. The program's four concentrations -- fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and writing for children -- are represented. Many of the theses consist of two parts, a work in the student's concentration and a project for which the student conducted scholarly research. Electronic theses begin with the class of 2015.

Abstract The collection consists of roughly two decades of sound recordings documenting guest speakers, faculty, and students of The New School's MFA in Creative Writing Program, including events that pre-date the official establishment of the program in 1996. Abstract

The New School was a frequent host of Poetry Society of America events, co-sponsored by the university's MFA in Creative Writing Program and the university division formerly known as Schools of Public Engagement that focused on continuing education and public programming. This collection of mostly audio recordings documents Poetry Society of America readings, festivals, and awards ceremonies over approximately a decade.
