"Forging a New Era in Design", 2000

 File — Box: Mixed dmx_2 (F), dvd-case: PC020102_D001

Scope and Contents

Brief videos present the work of the Center for New Design at Parsons School of Design, describing approaches, facilities, programs and a lecture series, "The Designer in the Twenty-First Century." Program director, Mary Howard Hylton, who founded the Center in 1999, makes introductory and closing remarks. Hylton describes the program as a collaborative space for a corporate partner to work with an interdisciplinary group of Parsons designers to apply rapidly-evolving digital media tools to design challenges. The video was art directed, edited, and produced by Carlos Cazalis. Hylton's closing comments suggest that the video may have been directed at prospective industry partners. Files migrated from CD.
