The Lang Seminar, 1987-1989
Scope and Contents
The Lang Seminar was a student newspaper published at Eugene Lang College from the Spring 1987 semester until the Spring 1990 semester. Until the Fall 1989 semester, it was offered as a for-credit course at Eugene Lang College, with an issue published every three weeks. It published news reportage, opinion pieces, reviews and poetry. For the entirety of its existence, the course was taught by Lang professor Mark Statman, who is credited as an advisor to the editorial board. After the Fall 1989 semester, the course was discontinued, and the paper was rebranded as The Seminar. The Seminar was published for just a single semester, after which it ceased publication due to a lack of administrative support. In November 1990, Bang! was first published as a successor publication to The Seminar.
