Predominantly comprised of records produced by the Parsons School of Design Development Office, this collection documents fundraising, special programs, events, and reunion plans. Other offices included are Admissions, Alumni Relations, Career Services, Public Relations, Publication Design, Special Events, and Student Council. Abstract This record group documents the activities of the New School's Communications and External Affairs (CEA) office, one of the university's largest administrative units. Abstract

Eleanor S. (McMillen) Brown (1890-1991) was a graduate of the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (later Parsons School of Design), who founded the interior design firm McMillen Inc. This collection consists of biographical materials, photographs, press clippings, and correspondence donated by her grandson, Michael McMillen.

This collection contains printed materials related to exhibitions and public programs, such as lectures, readings and seminars, held at, sponsored by, or produced in cooperation with The New School and its divisions and departments. Materials include publicity materials, exhibition catalogs, and invitations. Abstract

Contains 236 posters created for academic departments and administrative offices of Parsons The New School for Design, including promotional posters for summer sessions and study abroad programs, recruiting by specific departments, and publicity for exhibitions, public programs, and internship fairs. With the exception of a 1927 poster advertising a dance, the series does not contain any material created prior to 1956.

Overview

Parsons School of Design was established in 1896 and became affiliated with The New School as the university's art and design college in 1970. New School Archives staff assembled this collection of audiovisual materials, exhibition catalogs, posters, publications, student work, and other formats from departmental transfers and personal donations by Parsons School of Design faculty, students and administrative staff beginning in 2009.
