New School Raymond Fogelman Library records
This record group documents the activities of the staff of the Raymond Fogelman Library, The New School's library for social sciences and history prior to being incorporated into the The New School Libraries & Special Collections in the 2010s. The earliest files date from the late 1940s, with most covering the 1990s and early 2000s. Some files may be closed to protect employee privacy. Please consult with an archivist for further details.

Parsons School of Design Adam and Sophie Gimbel Art and Design Library records
The records of the Adam and Sophie Gimbel Art and Design Library of Parsons School for Design consist of administrative files generated by library administrators and school executives. Topics include library collections, facilities, fundraising, statistical record-keeping, and the library's role in school accreditation. The bulk of the records dates from the period after Parsons School of Design's library relocated in 1972.
Parsons School of Design administrative and other offices collection
Predominantly comprised of records produced by the Parsons School of Design Development Office, this collection documents fundraising, special programs, events, and reunion plans. Other offices included are Admissions, Alumni Relations, Career Services, Public Relations, Publication Design, Special Events, and Student Council. Parsons School of Design administrative offices collection
This collection consists of administrative records, printed promotional material, and publications produced by Parsons School of Design administrative offices, including Admissions; the Board of Governors; Career Services; Human Resources; Student Services; and the Development Office, including Alumni Relations and External Partnerships. The contents primarily comprise printed promotional materials, directories and lists, with a small amount of photographs and email correspondence.
Parsons School of Design Office of the President records
This collection consists of records created and received by Parsons School of Design Presidents Sterling A. Callisen (president 1959-1963) and Francis A. Ruzicka (president 1963-1969), and records of the Parsons Academic Dean's Office and Business Manager from the 1950s-1960s. Parsons School of Design Product Design Department, Richard Yelle records
Contains records produced during Richard Yelle's term as department chair of Product Design (as well as its predecessors: Clay, Fiber, Metal Design; Clay, Metal, Textile Design; and Clay, Metal, Textile, and Product Design). Includes administrative records, information on competitions and exhibits, student work, course descriptions, and evaluations. Also includes examples of Yelle's professional work, and a poster for a Constantin Boym exhibit.
Parsons School of Design Product Design Department, Tony Whitfield records
This record group consists of documentation created by Parsons School of Design's Product Design Department between 1990-2015. The records were created or received by various individuals, including department chairs Richard Yelle and Tony Whitfield. The record group contains office files pertaining to the administration of the department and Product Design student projects.
Reuben Abel papers
These papers document the academic career of Reuben Abel (1911-1997), beginning with his undergraduate study at Columbia College and doctoral philosophy studies in the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research, through his professorship at the university. It includes course notes and syllabi, and material documenting his student activities, such as his role as founder and editor of the New School student magazine, 12th Street: A Quarterly.
Abel's papers reflect his position within the Graduate Faculty, consisting of correspondence with colleagues and deans, appointment letters, faculty minutes, and committee documents; in addition to his role as instructor and advisor to students, consisting of lecture notes, thesis committee work and doctoral exam requirement reviews. Contains one annotated typescript of his work, Man Is the Measure.
Robert Kirkbride faculty records
The records in this collection, dating from 1985-2013, document Parsons School of Design faculty member Robert Kirkbride's involvement in faculty bodies and reviews of academic programs at The New School, primarily between 2004 and 2013, including his role as faculty advisor on the design and construction of the New School University Center at 65 Fifth Avenue. Also represented are materials documenting Kirkbride's participation in the curriculum review of various Parsons undergraduate programs and events and exhibitions in Parsons' Product Design Department.
