Abstract

The Parsons School of Design Centenary Oral History Project consists of recorded sound interviews with twelve individuals as well as two audio monologues by the project's manager, Martica Sawin. The interviews, recorded in 1994, cover the history of different academic departments and design disciplines over the course of the twentieth century as experienced by former and then-current instructors and administrators. Recordings are all in English.

This collection consists of three audio recordings of lectures held as part of the Henry Wolf Lecture Series. This series, held in the Fall of 1998 in honor of graphic designer and longtime Parsons School of Design instructor Henry Wolf, focused on all aspects of graphic design. Abstract

This collection consists solely of audio recordings of Reiner Schürmann (1941-1993) lecturing on Kant, Nietzsche, and philosophical anthropology. Schürmann was a professor in the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research, and The New School Archives staff assumes that the lectures were made during Philosophy Department courses he taught in the late 1980s.

This collection consists of audio files of lectures given by classics scholar and philosopher Seth Benardete in his classes at The New School and New York University. The lectures represent Benardete's courses on subjects such as the works of Plato and Aristotle, among others.
