Probably never intended for publication, this book--an affectionate parody of Avedon and Truman Capote's 1959 book of portraits, Observations--playfully alters quotations from literary sources, juxtaposing text with images of Avedon and others. An inscription reads: "with apologies to Truman Capote, Alexey Brodovitch, Simon & Schuster, Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer, Harper's Bazaar, Bob Bishop, Frank Finocchio and Mrs. Bircher(?) but mostly with great affection for you.
