Miriam Kartch Mannes College of Music administrative files
Miriam Kartch (1924-) was a longtime faculty member of Mannes School of Music, starting under Clara Damrosch Mannes in 1945 and retiring in 2015. This collection consists of administrative documents and notes from Kartch’s tenure at Mannes, most dating from the 1970s to 1990s.
Nellie Lane Woodruff scrapbook of Lilli Lehmann opera ephemera
The scrapbook, compiled by Nellie Lane Woodruff (1867-circa 1944), contains ephemera about opera singer Lilli Lehmann (1848-1929). It appears from the contents of the scrapbook that Lehmann and Woodruff were acquaintances, if not friends. The scrapbook contains photographs, clippings, programs, and other ephemera documenting Lehmann's professional singing career at the Metropolitan Opera of New York, the Bayreuth Festival, and at other venues.
Peter Pindar Stearns music manuscripts
This collection consists of music manuscripts created by composer Peter Pindar Stearns (1931-2016), who taught composition at The Mannes School of Music from 1957 to 1989. The manuscripts include both secular and religious works composed during the period from 1948 to 2013 and the collection also contains correspondence related to the publishing of Stearns's compositions and copies of the published works.
Risë Stevens arrangements collection
Risë Stevens (1913-2013) was an operatic mezzo-soprano, actress, and a music administrator who served as president of the Mannes College of Music from 1975 to 1978. The collection contains performance scores of Broadway and jazz standards of the 1930s and 1940s arranged for her, likely for use in her commercially recorded albums of such standards.

Sylvia Marlowe (1908-1981) was an important mid-twentieth century American harpsichordist. The Sylvia Marlowe collection documents her performance career, predominantly through scores, many inscribed to her by composers. Additionally, photographs and textual publicity materials provide further context for Marlowe's performances and recordings.

Victor Hammer collection
Music manuscripts and books collected by Victor Hammer, including a copy of Ein Beitrag zur Ornamentik by Heinrich Schenker, musical sketches and three books of lute tablature, correspondence of Carolyn Reading Hammer with Clifford Wurfel and Robert Lang of the University of California at Riverside Library, a drawing of Hans Weisse by Victor Hammer, and manuscripts of compositions by Hans Weisse, with dedications to Victor Hammer.
Walter Damrosch collection of scores
Walter Damrosch (1862-1950) was a Prussian-born American conductor and composer associated with opera and with early radio broadcasts of classical music. This collection contains scores collected and/or used by Damrosch, including his own piano arrangement of a Franz Liszt composition.
