Biographical note
Hubert de Givenchy was born in France in 1927. He established his own label in the early 1950s after less than a decade designing for major French couture houses, including Jacques Fath and Schiaparelli. Givenchy's designs were worn by fashion icons, notably Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy. In 1988, the Givenchy label was acquired by LVMH, although Givenchy continued designing under his own label until 1995.
