"Rock and Roll!" was the original label on this folder of press clippings about alumni of the Jazz program, specifically about John Popper and his band the Blues Traveller, David Buechner, and the band Spin Doctors, whose members Eric Schenkman, Christopher Barron, Aaron Comess met as students in the New School Jazz program.

Correspondence, reports, draft and final proposals, and internal memoranda tracing the development of the Jazz program at The New School. Includes the initial 1984 proposal from Arnie Lawrence and David C. Levy proposing a BFA curriculum in Jazz and the March 1985 proposal submitted to the New York State Education Department to establish the BFA. Documents from the mid-1990s focus largley on changes in reporting structures and the relationship between the Jazz program and Mannes College of Music. Includes a course catalog for the Mannes College of Music Extension Division 1994-1995. The main correspondents in these folders are Parsons School of Design Executive Dean David C. Levy, Frank O'Neal, and Mannes College of Music Dean Charles Kaufman, The New School President Jonathan F. Fanton, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music Executive Director Martin Mueller, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music Associate Dean Chuck Iwanusa.

Largely consists of email correspondence between Martin Mueller and event programming and communications colleagues, including Phillip Ballman, Bethany Ryker, Richard Boukas, Deborah Kirschner, Pamela Sabrin and Teri Lucas. Also includes correspondence with musicians and representatives of performance venues coordinating concerts and visiting lectures.

Two newsletters: January 2000 and Spring/Summer 2002. The first page of the 2000 newsletter contains an article, "Reggie Workman Receives Living Legacy Jazz Award," and features an interview with Workman.
