New School Archives records
This collection contains documentation of The New School Archives, established in 2012, and its predecessor, the Kellen Design Archives (also known as the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Archives Center). Wendy Scheir became director of the Archives in 2008, taking over from Xenophon T. Barber. The records cover both directorships and relate to Archives exhibitions, publicity, collecting, preservation, strategic planning, and grant applications.
Also included are photographs of the Archives space and staff.
New School student activism collection
This collection consists of physical ephemera related to student protests on or around The New School's Greenwich Village, New York campus, including banners, posters, and fliers delivered to The New School Archives by university staff. Occupy Wall Street is represented, as is an iteration of the New School in Exile.
Parsons School of Design academic programs collection
Parsons School of Design was established in 1896 and became affiliated with The New School as the university's art and design college in 1970. New School Archives staff assembled this collection of audiovisual materials, exhibition catalogs, posters, publications, student work, and other formats from departmental transfers and personal donations by Parsons School of Design faculty, students and administrative staff beginning in 2009.
Parsons School of Design exhibitions and public programs collection
This collection primarily contains printed material—invitations, announcements, catalogs—advertising and documenting exhibitions and public programming sponsored by Parsons School of Design. The collection includes three audiovisual recordings and one set of digital photographs.
