Abstract

This collection contains printed materials related to exhibitions and public programs, such as lectures, readings and seminars, held at, sponsored by, or produced in cooperation with The New School and its divisions and departments. Materials include publicity materials, exhibition catalogs, and invitations. For Parsons School of Design sponsored exhibitions, see the Parsons School of Design academic departments, programs and schools collection (PC.02.01.01).

Summary

Consists of published journal articles, typescripts, unpublished essays, lectures, and seminar notes, as well as handwritten notes and resumes by or pertaining to New School faculty members from 1908 to the 2000s. Assembled by librarians at the Raymond Fogelman Social Sciences and Humanities Library (now the List Center Library, part of The New School Libraries and Archives), the collection is arranged alphabetically by faculty member last name.

This collection consists of records of the undergraduate gender studies minor program at The New School, covering roughly the time the gender studies minor was discussed in committee at the university in 2006 to the end of Miriam Ticktin’s directorship in 2014, the last year comprehensively documented. The bulk of the files document the program under the direction of Ann Snitow (2009-2012).

These guides cover student life, degree requirements, information about living in New York City, among other topics. Faculty handbooks offer teaching guidelines and regulations, while materials created for international students provide information on adapting to life in the United States.

This collection consists of audio and video recordings of class discussions, guest lecturers, and special events programmed by the Human Relations Center at The New School, a long-running program organized by women and directed primarily toward the personal, social and career development of women.
